REPUBLIC DAY CELEBRATIONS AT KHWAJA MOINUDDIN CHISHTI URDU, ARABI-FARSI UNIVERSITY
Lucknow: Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti Urdu, Arabi-Farsi University celebrated Republic Day in the University premises on 26th January, 2015 (Monday). The Indian tricolor was unfurled by Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor, Dr. Khan Masood Ahmad in the presence of all the teachers, administrative staff and students of the University.
While addressing the audience, Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor said that each one of us needs to participate for attainment of the goals laid down by the constitution. He further said that academicians bear a greater responsibility in the country’s development. He urged the teachers of the University to work continuously towards acquisition and sharing of knowledge so that the development gaps of different areas can be assessed and overcome. He also advised the young students of the university to work towards living to the principles of unity, fairness and equality.
Towards the end he informed the students about the various infrastructural developments taking place in the University campus and also declared that alteast one wing of the students hostel will be operational by the next semester. He also confirmed that the University library will soon be WiFi enabled and this facility will be available to the students and teachers alike.
Congratulating the faculty members and students of the University on the 66th Republic day, Prof. Mahrukh Mirza and Dr. Ehtesham Ahmad (Deptt. of Commerce) also shared their views. While Prof. Mirza stressed upon the responsibility of the teachers to channelize the energy of the youth in the right direction, Dr. Ahmad reminded the gathering of their fundamental rights, duties. The University’s Registrar, Dr. Nazim Husain Al-Jafri welcomed the students on this august occasion and gave the message of peace and harmony among all irrespective of their caste, class, religion and creed.
Patriotic song “Ae Mere Watan Ke Logon” sung by Mohd. Adil added a soothing melodious note to the cold winter morning. Anushree ( B.C.A II Semester), Suneha Yadav (B.A IV Semester) and Mohammad Abshar Uddin ( B.A IV Semester) also expressed their views on this occasion. The vote of thanks was delivered by the Programme Convenor- Dr.Tanu Dang, Assistant Professor, Dept. of Journalism and Mass Communication who ended the program with a self composed poem:
Ek Din toh AIsa Ayega Jab bharat desh mahaan hoga,
Jab har subah ki laali mein, mohabbat ka paigam hoga,
Jab jaat – paat par no honge batware, sabka hi dharm imaan hoga,
Na hoga lab par tera mera, bus mohabbat ka hi naam hoga, Vo subah kabhi toh ayegi, jab mera desh mahan hoga.
